Current News Updates

VeriSign was at Infosecurity Europe in London in 2006

VeriSign participated at the 11th annual InfoSecurity Europe held on the 25th - 27th April at Kensington Olympia in London .

This year, the exhibition had a record breaking success with over 12,000 visitors and over 250 press members attending ( www.infosec.co.uk ).

VeriSign, which has been an exhibitor at this conference since 2003, impressed again this year with a large stand at one of the best locations.  On the cinema sized projection screen, presentations were given during the whole day. Amongst others, special speakers including Phill Hallam–Baker and Tim Callan presented VeriSign's views on topics including Internet crime, security risk profiling, securing next generation browsers and high assurance certificates and their implications.

Infosecurity Europe is alongside the RSA conference the most prestigious and largest information security event of the year bringing together IT professionals, developers, policy makers, industry leaders and academics to share information and exchange ideas on technology trends and best practices in identity theft, hacking, cyber-terrorism, biometrics, network forensics, perimeter defence, secure web services, encryption and related topics. This year the event was a record breaking success with over 12,000 visitors! 12,275 visitors (pre ABC audit) compared to 10,874 in 2005, a 13% increase 257 members of the press attended including journalists from The Guardian, The Financial Times, The BBC, Al Jazeera TV, Channel Four TV, Channel Five TV. The Independent, 01 Reseaux, British Satellite News, Computer Weekly, Reuters, IT Week, The Observer and Information Age, 935  visitors returned on day 2 from day 1 and 875 returned on day 3 from day 2.

During the first day of the event, VeriSign announced the UK launch of  ‘VeriSign Security Risk Profiling Service, an applied intelligence service and new Managed Security Services Offering, designed to identify, quantify and visualise security risk'

The service which was presented during a series of VeriSign seminars presented in the London rooms, is designed to help Security/risk officers reduce the time spent trying to identify the latest threats and vulnerabilities, and helps to determine how to prioritize response activities. During the presentation VeriSign demonstrated real world scenarios, and how the right combination of people, process, technology, and intelligence can enable effective risk management and help identify and mitigate both external and internal threats.

VeriSign presented four vendor keynote sessions in the London rooms on the first day - Read on to review and download the London room seminars.

In addition VeriSign provided a regular program of presentations at stand 500 throughout the 3 days, focusing on key security issues facing IT security decision makers in today's increasingly risk averse e-commerce environment, demonstrating some of the new solutions in the areas of Securing the New Generation of Browsers and High Assurance SSL Certificates, consumer authentication and the VIP Network, Security Risk profiling, phishing and pharming and how to protect your business, Knowing when to patch and how to save money from unnecessary patching and global security consulting. VeriSign also had a keynote presentation titled ‘The importance of Security Intelligence in Protecting customer data and corporate assets' on day 3. Click here to download

Finally VeriSign held an after-show party held exclusively at the The London Rooms, Olympia designed to meet the personalities behind the technology and celebrate the launch of Verisign Managed Security Services (MSS) Risk Profiling. Participants enjoyed a buffet dinner, gambling and a Jazz Trio, whilst having the opportunity to network among their peers and meet the VeriSign team.
